Chemical Romance, who opens for Green Day, rocked the house at the Taj Mahal Casino two weeks ago.

ATLANTIC CITY (April 24) - My Chemical Romance has recently taken the world by storm in one of the biggest underdog success stories the music industry has seen in a while. Going from basement shows to opening an arena tour with Green Day in under two years is a huge feat, and has left many a person scratching their heads in wonder as to how it all happened.
Ever since the release of the bands second album, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge last year, the band has experienced a whirlwind of success mostly due to their hit single "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)." The band recently stopped back in their home state for a sold out show in the Trump Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City. When the band hit the stage, it was met by an enormous ovation from a crowd comprised mostly of younger kids and their parents. Covered in an eerie orange glow form the stage lights, the band wasted no time before launching right into its current hit "Helena". The rest of the bands 25-minute set list was spent plowing through material from its current album, and only delving into their debut record disappointingly only for "Our Lady Of Sorrows." Highlights of the set included "Cemetery Drive", "You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison" and "Thanks For The Venom."
Singer Gerrard Way bounced around the stage tossing out equal part swear words with actual lyrics, while guitarist Frankie Iero thrashed around with reckless abandon as if possessed. By the time the band closed the set with "I'm Not Okay", fans weren't sure if they saw a train wreck or a rock show. The band has really adapted well to their recent surge of success, and know how to play up the rock star role to full effect. Trading in their old fans for the TRL crowd also seems like a small price to pay for My Chemical Romance, who are hell bent on trampling everything that gets in their way. Catch My Chemical Romance on the main stage of this summer's Warped Tour, as well as on a fall tour with The Alkaline Trio.
